Pizarras y Esquistos
D.O. Ribeira Sacra
Pizarras y Esquistos is a wine from Appellation of Origin (D.O.) Ribeira Sacra.
It is a single-varietal queen Mencía grape variety.
It is a wine made of two different plots with different soils, slate and schist (pizarras y esquistos).
The slate plot is from San Vitorio vineyard, on the banks of the Miño River, leading it towards spices, black fruits and liquorice. The schist plot is located in the Sil and Bibei Rivers accompanying the rest of its journey with red fruits and flowers.
From a tasting point of view, it has a deep ruby colour reminiscent of picota cherry. It has an intense, with notes of black fruit aromas. On the palate, it has a liquorice with a pleasant black pepper finishing.
It pairs perfectly with beef dishes and the famous Galician octopus.
We recommend consuming it at a temperature around 15ºC.
